alli&toni: together for 50 years

PIC-TURES; noun\'pik-chərs\ middle english, from latin pictura, from pictus; a design or representation made by various means

We had an early dinner at Ocean Park (at around 5:00 pm) and then they dropped us off at NAIA for our 7:30 pm flight. These are pictures of our waiting time at the airport.

Buzz Lightyear, Angelo's favorite toy, was left on a chair at the airport. Our flight was called, and we were in a hurry to board the plane. I didn't notice that after playing with his two Nemos, Angelo got Buzz out of his toy bag and played with him. So I stuffed the two Nemos back in the bag, but didn't double check for any other toy.

We realized this fact (that Buzz got left behind) 20 minutes into the flight. So we called a flight attendant over and told her our predicament. She asked us to write down a detailed description of the toy and where we last saw it. Then she gave that to the pilot and the pilot radioed NAIA about our situation. We were then asked to write down our names and contact information, as PAL would just call us for any updates.

PAL Cebu called us 30 minutes after we landed, saying that they got in touch with PAL in NAIA and that the toy was nowhere to be found. It was probably picked up by someone already, were their words. I thanked them for their efforts and hung up, very disappointed. On the plane, before we landed in Cebu, I told Toni that I was confident that Buzz would be found. I felt we had a 70-30 chance of getting Buzz back. And then these depressing words.

But then, 20 minutes after that first call, a Juan Miguel Ortiz from PAL NAIA called us and said that he found a toy in NAIA, and if it was ours. I was so excited! He asked me to describe my toy, and I said it's a green and white spaceman with wings. But he had a Jollibee toy, and I had to reject it. Mr. Ortiz was very proactive though, and said that he would look for our toy.

10 minutes later, Mr. Ortiz called again, with very good news this time. HE FOUND BUZZ! Toni and I were so happy! Mr. Ortiz said he would send it to Cebu on the first flight the next day.

So Buzz is home, and Angelo was none the wiser. I intend to contact PAL Manila and give Mr. Ortiz a glowing recommendation, a kudos. He should be employee of the year, for going above and beyond his line of duty.
