It was during this same month last year that I solicited for donations to fulfill my ultimate dream concert. Sad to say, no one donated and my wish stayed only a wish. Readers of our blog are probably cheap (no pun intended), hehe. I should have Bill Gates read this entry in the hope to finally get the chance to see that ever dream concert of mine.I promise not to watch TOTO live in Cebu just to save for this one. And I promise not to watch the rumored U2 concert in Manila if ever it will indeed push through. I'll even ignore concerts of bands like Incubus, Duran Duran, Maroon 5 but not Dave Matthews, because....
you see, Dave Matthews will be performing in this year's Kokua festival. Now on it's fifth year, this annual festival is celebrated during the earth day week-end in Hawaii. It's a gathering of artists in a concert for a cause. All proceeds of the event go to the Kokua Hawaii Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Jack Johnson to support environmental education programs in his beloved island.
 To say that I may be the unofficial number one fan of Jack Johnson in the island of Cebu is pathetic, but just let me be. If I will have to make donation cans like those you see in cashier counters everywhere just to fulfill this wish, I will. If I have to create more write ups about how I idolize Jack Johnson, I will devote my hands to typing on the keyboard rather than draft and draw building plans. If I can't join this festival because my wife and I are desperately saving for our church wedding, then buying me a ticket would be the perfect graduation gift, second only to the present my wife gave me. (I have to insert that, you know.)
And now i sound like a kid begging, give me a lollipop please...
To content myself by watching videos of last year's festival in you tube is my only consolation. Just see for yourself how Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam played good music with Jack Johnson. Not to mention that there will be other renowned artists who'll be playing alongside Dave Matthews for this year's festival.
Next year on this same month, expect me to do the same thing. This won't stop until I will succeed. Now you can make a difference to that.

 | i believe you failed to mention the cost of this event. you do have to understand that this is in hawaii. you then have to ask the ff.:
1.) how many relatives and/or friends do you have that earn the american dollar?
2.) do sonics, zai and you already have US visas? if yes, well and good. if no, you have to start working on it.
3.) will you have enough pocket money to shoulder living and food expenses?
i don't mean to burst your bubble sweet corn but it's kind a short notice.:)
